Cookie Policy
Mujaz uses few cookies, and no advertising cookies at all. This page lists every one of them and what it does.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser so it can recognise you on your next request — for example to keep you signed in, or to remember the language you chose.
The cookies we set
Strictly necessary — these cannot be switched off without breaking the service
- token — keeps you signed in to your Mujaz account. Expires when your session ends or you sign out.
- rememberme — keeps you signed in between visits when you ask us to. You choose whether it is set.
- NEXT_LOCALE — remembers whether you are reading Mujaz in Arabic or English.
- mujaz_public_lang — remembers the language you chose on a publisher's public page.
- mujaz_invite — remembers, for up to 30 days, that another writer invited you, so the credit survives signing up through Google.
- cookie-consent — remembers your answer to the cookie banner (Accept or Reject) for a year, so we don't ask on every page.
Analytics — only if you accept
Google Analytics runs only after you press “Accept all” on the cookie banner, and never after “Reject”. It counts visits and pages without knowing who you are.
Analytics cookies
- _ga, _ga_* — set by Google Analytics; they last up to 2 years.
- Google Tag Manager loads the analytics code and sets no cookie of its own.
- To change your answer, clear this site’s cookies and local storage in your browser and the banner will ask again.
What we do not do
We set no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking cookies, and no third-party marketing pixels. We do not sell browsing data, and we do not build profiles of you across other websites.
Cookies in newsletters
Newsletters sent through Mujaz do not carry cookies — email does not support them. They may contain a small tracking image and rewritten links, which tell the publisher that a message was opened or a link was clicked. That is the publisher's choice, governed by their own privacy policy, and most email clients let you block remote images.
Managing cookies
Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies through its settings. Blocking the strictly necessary ones above will sign you out and stop parts of Mujaz from working, but nothing else will break.
