Your privacy as a reader

The writer sees your email and what you gave when subscribing, and whether you opened their issues or clicked their links. To ask for your data to be removed, contact the newsletter's writer, or email [email protected].

Who is responsible for your data

When you subscribe to a newsletter on Mujaz, the writer or publisher is the controller of your data, and Mujaz is the processor that handles it on their instructions, only to deliver what they send. Mujaz doesn't market to you and doesn't sell personal information.

What is stored about you

  • The email you subscribed with, and any name or preferences you gave, such as language.
  • Whether a message was delivered, opened, or a link in it was clicked.
  • Whether you unsubscribed, bounced, or reported a message as spam.
  • The IP address and time of your subscription, which is the record of your consent.

What the writer sees

Your profile on the writer's side shows your status, the date you joined, how you joined (source, page and who referred you), the issues you opened and links you clicked, the lists and tags they put you in, and your unsubscribe reason if you picked one.

How to ask for your data to be removed

  1. 1. Unsubscribe from the link at the bottom of any issue. See Unsubscribe.
  2. 2. Ask the newsletter's writer to delete you. Deleting a subscriber removes them immediately.
  3. 3. If they don't respond, email [email protected] and we'll help the writer answer your request.

Mujaz remembers that you unsubscribed or reported a message, so you aren't re-added by an import and aren't emailed after asking to stop.

Every newsletter has a privacy notice at mujaz.io/@newsletter-name/privacy. Full details, including how long data is kept, are in the privacy policy.

Common questions

Does Mujaz sell my email?

No. Mujaz doesn't sell, rent or trade personal information.

Can Mujaz staff see what I read?

Mujaz staff don't look at individual readers unless the writer asks for help or Mujaz is investigating abuse, and those views are logged.

The writer deleted me. Can they add me back?

If you unsubscribed before being deleted, they can't re-add you by import. You come back only if you subscribe yourself.

  • Unsubscribe from a newsletter

Every issue has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it, then press “Confirm unsubscribe” on the page that opens. No more issues from that newsletter will reach you.

  • Subscribe and confirm

Enter your email in the sign-up form on the newsletter's page or the writer's website. Some newsletters ask you to confirm by email; click the link in it and issues start arriving.
