Who opened and clicked

On any issue's analytics page, press “Who?” next to a number to see the people behind it: who opened, clicked, didn't open, bounced or reported it as spam. Every bounce shows its reason.

Last updated:
  1. 1. Open Newsletters (Opens in the Mujaz app), the “Sent” tab, and press “Analytics” on the issue's card. Or open Analytics and press “View Details” under “Newsletter Performance”.
  2. 2. Next to “Unique Opens”, “Unique Clicks”, “Bounces” or “Complaints”, press “Who?”.
  3. 3. Switch lists with the buttons at the top: “Opened”, “Clicked”, “Didn't open”, “Bounced” and “Complaints”.
  4. 4. Find someone with “Search by email”.

What each list shows

  • “Opened”: one row per person, newest first, with how many times and the last open.
  • “Clicked”: with the links each person clicked.
  • “Didn't open”: received it and no open on record. Some email apps hide opens, so a few of these did read it.
  • “Bounced”: addresses the issue didn't reach, with the reason.
  • “Complaints”: people who pressed “Report spam”, and which email provider the report came through. They are never emailed again.

Bounce reasons

“Hard bounce” means the address doesn't work, and Mujaz never emails it again. “Soft bounce” means a temporary problem, like a full inbox. Each address has a plain reason, such as:

  • “The address doesn't exist” or “The domain doesn't exist”.
  • “The account is disabled”.
  • “Their inbox is full”.
  • “Blocked by their email server”, “Their email server refused it” or “Their email server didn't answer”.
  • “Bounced before — not sent again”.

Hover over the reason to see the email server's original text.

Opens by hour and devices

“Open Activity by Hour” shows when subscribers opened your issue during the day, with a line like “Most opens between … and …”. Times are in your own time zone. “Device Breakdown” shows the devices it was opened on.

Useful next steps

  • “Resend to people who didn't open” at the top of the page makes a draft aimed at people who didn't open. Change the subject, then send it yourself. See Resend to non-openers.
  • “Export Data” downloads this issue's numbers.
  • Numbers can take about 10 minutes to update. Press “Refresh”.

Common questions

Someone in “Didn't open” says they read it. How?

Some email apps hide opens, so none is recorded. A few people in that list may well have read it.

Can I email an address that hard-bounced?

No. The address doesn't work, and Mujaz never emails it again. A soft bounce is a temporary problem.

How do I download the list of people who opened?

Press “Export CSV” in the “Who?” window. Export is on Starter and up.

  • Analytics: what each number means

The Analytics page shows total subscribers, newsletters sent, average open and click rates, subscriber growth and each issue's performance. Numbers update within about 10 minutes, and what you see depends on your plan's analytics level.

  • Resend an issue to people who didn't open it

On a sent issue's analytics page, press “Resend to people who didn't open”. Mujaz makes a new draft aimed at people who received the issue and didn't open it, and sends nothing until you do. Available on every plan.

  • Subscriber statuses: unsubscribes, bounces and complaints

Every subscriber has a status, and Mujaz only sends to Active ones. People who unsubscribed, bounced or reported spam can't be brought back by an import; only the reader can subscribe again.

  • A subscriber's profile

The profile puts everything about a subscriber in one place: status, how they joined, what they opened, their lists and tags, and their place in the welcome sequence. Open it from ⋮ on their row → “View profile”.
