Subscriber lists

A list is a group of subscribers you send a particular issue to. Create one on the Subscriber Lists tab, add people by hand or with a CSV, then choose it in the editor under “Audience Segment”.

Create a list

  1. 1. Open Subscriber Lists (Opens in the Mujaz app).
  2. 2. Press “Create List”.
  3. 3. Type a “List Name” (required, up to 50 characters, unique) and, if you like, a “Description (optional)”.
  4. 4. Add people with “Add Manually” (one email per line) or “Upload CSV”.
  5. 5. Press “Create List”.

Add and remove people

  • From existing subscribers: on All Subscribers, tick the people, press “Add to List” and choose the list.
  • From the list card: ⋮ menu → “Add subscribers”.
  • Remove from one list: open the list and press “Remove from this list” next to the person. They stay in the workspace and their other lists. Not possible on “All Subscribers”.

Automatic lists

  • “All Subscribers”: everyone in the workspace. It can't be renamed or deleted.
  • “Public Subscribers”: people who joined on your public page. It can't be deleted.
  • “Embed Subscribers”: people who joined through the form embedded on your website.

A list's language

In the ⋮ menu → “Edit list”, choose “Language (optional)”. A list with a language automatically collects new form sign-ups in that language. “Collect language preference” in Form Integration (Opens in the Mujaz app) creates two lists: “Arabic Subscribers” and “English Subscribers”.

Send to a list

In the editor, go to “Settings” → “Audience” → “Audience Segment”. Despite the name, this field chooses the list; the default is All Subscribers.

  • Each card shows the count, 30-day growth, last send and average open rate.
  • “Delete list” removes only the list; the people stay in the workspace.
  • To export a list, open it and press “Export”.

Common questions

What's the difference between a list and a segment?

You put people on a list yourself. A segment is a rule Mujaz re-checks on every send, such as: people who haven't opened in 30 days.

Are subscribers deleted when I delete a list?

No. Only the list goes; everyone stays in All Subscribers.

  • Segments: send to the right readers

A segment is a saved rule Mujaz re-checks every time you use it, so it stays right on its own. Create one on the Segments tab, then pick it in the editor to send only to it or leave it out. On the paid plans, Lite and up.

  • Tags: group your subscribers

A tag is a short word you put on a subscriber to group them with others. Tag one person from “Edit tags”, or many at once with the “Tags” button, then send to everyone with a tag using the editor's “Tag Filter”.

  • Export subscribers to CSV

Press “Export” on the Subscribers page to download everyone as a CSV file, or open a list and press “Export” to download just that list. Export is on Starter and up.

  • Import subscribers from a CSV file

In Subscribers press Import CSV and pick a CSV file up to 10 MB with an email column. Mujaz detects the columns by itself, and importing never sends anything.
