Segments: send to the right readers
A segment is a saved rule Mujaz re-checks every time you use it, so it stays right on its own. Create one on the Segments tab, then pick it in the editor to send only to it or leave it out. On the paid plans, Lite and up.
Create a segment
- 1. Open Segments (Opens in the Mujaz app) and press “New segment”.
- 2. Name it, and choose readers who match “all” or “any” of the conditions.
- 3. Press “Add condition”. You can add up to 10.
- 4. A live line shows how many subscribers match right now, with sample emails.
- 5. Press “Save”.
Conditions
- “Engagement”: opened any newsletter, never opened, clicked any link, never clicked, active in the last N days, hasn't opened in N days.
- “A newsletter”: opened, received and didn't open, clicked a link in, received and didn't click.
- “Tags”: has any of, has all of, has none of.
- “Language”: Arabic or English.
- “Joined”: in the last N days, after a date, or before a date.
- “Email domain”: is or is not.
Readers who have unsubscribed, bounced or reported spam never match.
Use a segment in an issue
- 1. In the editor, go to “Settings” → “Audience”.
- 2. Under “Segment”, choose “Send only to” or “Leave out”, then pick the segment.
- 3. Check the estimated audience size before sending.
- Up to 100 segments per workspace.
- A segment used by a scheduled or sending issue can't be deleted until that issue's audience changes.
- Deleting a segment that drafts use removes it from those drafts; subscribers are not affected.
Common questions
Does a segment update itself?
Yes. Mujaz checks the conditions every time you use it, so it includes people who match since.
How do I send to people who didn't open a particular issue?
Make a segment with “A newsletter” → “received and didn't open”, or use Resend to people who didn't open, which is on every plan.
Why can't I delete a segment?
A scheduled or sending issue uses it. Change that issue's audience first.
