How to stay out of spam
Send only to people who asked for your newsletter, use full direct links, send to engaged readers, check the “Spam Score Checker” tips before sending, and send from your verified domain if you can. Mujaz handles the rest: an unsubscribe link in every email, no more mail to bounced or complaining addresses, and link checks before sending.
What Mujaz does for you
- Every email has an unsubscribe link that can't be removed, and one-click unsubscribe works in Gmail and Apple Mail.
- Mujaz only sends to Active subscribers. An address that hard-bounced, or someone who reported spam, is never emailed again.
- Imports skip anyone who unsubscribed, bounced or complained, and never re-add them. Lists that look purchased or scraped are refused.
- New accounts warm up: in the first 24 hours one send reaches at most 500 people, and in the first 7 days at most 5,000. Sign-up forms use double opt-in for the first 7 days.
- Before each send Mujaz checks the links: a link Google Safe Browsing flags as dangerous is refused, and links through shorteners, raw IP addresses or other services' trackers can hold the send for a quick review.
- If your address is on Yahoo, iCloud or AOL, Mujaz sends under your name from its own address and replies come to you, because those providers would send the issue to spam otherwise.
What you can do
- Send from your own domain. A domain verified with DKIM gives your email full authentication under your domain's name and spares your sends the review hold for content and shortened links. The check for dangerous links still applies to every send. On Growth and up: Send from your own domain.
- Add your postal address. The “Postal address” field in Domain & Email (Opens in the Mujaz app) is printed in every footer. Anti-spam law in most countries requires one, and without it your mail is more likely to land in spam. (Growth and up.)
- Build your list with permission. Don't import bought lists. You can turn on “Double Opt-in” in Form Integration (Opens in the Mujaz app) → “Advanced”.
- Use full direct links instead of shortened ones.
- Send to engaged readers. In the editor's “Audience” tab, the “Engagement Filter” option for people active in the last 90 days or new is the recommended one. To leave out people who never opened anything, use segments.
- Use a clear sender name of your own. A name that looks like a well-known brand, or content that reads like a bank, order or account notice, holds the send for review.
- Check the issue before sending. In the “Review & Send” step, the “Spam Score Checker” scores the subject, the content and the links out of 100 (green is 80 and up) and suggests fixes. Use its tips, but it is advice, not a promise of reaching the inbox, and it never blocks a send. It is on every plan.
- Send a [test email](help:send-a-test-email) first and check the links and images.
Watch the signals
- Each issue's analytics page shows bounces and complaints, and you can see who bounced and who reported it.
- “Security Alerts” in Settings → Notifications sends a weekly email only when there is something to act on: a sudden jump in sign-ups, or spam complaints above 0.1%.
- If many of the first emails bounce or are reported as spam, sending pauses automatically, and only support can lift it.
Common questions
Do I need my own domain for my newsletter to arrive?
No. Your Mujaz address [email protected] works with no setup. Your own domain adds full authentication under your domain's name and spares your sends some of the review checks.
Why does my issue show “Awaiting approval”?
Mujaz reviews some sends before they go out, and you get the result by email within a few hours. The reasons are in Why a send was held or refused.

- My issues land in spam
The strongest step is sending from your own verified domain, then sending only to people who want your issues. Go through this checklist item by item.
- Send from your own domain
Register a domain such as newsletter.yoursite.com under “Custom Domain”, add the three DKIM records at your DNS provider, then change “From Email” to an address on that domain. Available from the Growth plan.
- Why a send was held or refused
Mujaz checks every send before it goes out. An issue can be held for a quick review, moved to just after midnight by the daily limit, or refused for a specific reason. The message you see points to the cause and the fix.
- Subscriber statuses: unsubscribes, bounces and complaints
Every subscriber has a status, and Mujaz only sends to Active ones. People who unsubscribed, bounced or reported spam can't be brought back by an import; only the reader can subscribe again.
